We are a group of people made up of:
1. the parents of children who are attending XIC,
2. the staff members of XIC, and
3.
any person, who does not fall into the category of the previous two
groups, but who have the interests of XIC at heart. (for example, past
students and parents of past students)
The
members of the Friends of XIC, will be represented on an ongoing basis
by a committee of between 10 and 12 members, who will:
Be elected by the members
Conduct the business of the Friends of XIC
Represent the different age groups of students that attend XIC, and
Have a period of office of 2 years, with the ability to stand for re election.
The objects of Friends of XIC are principally to:
Create
a social environment around XIC to allow members to meet each other in
various events such as cheese and wine parties, sporting events, BBQs,
and more formal events such as a Spring Ball.
Fundraising to provide
those ‘extra items’ around the school that fall outside of the school’s
responsibility to provide our children with an education
The third
function is to assist in raising the public awareness of XIC within the
community where we live and elsewhere. I know that the best way to
raise the public awareness of XIC is through the academic results
achieved. We are fortunate to have an academic team under Michael Bayes
who are dedicated to this cause, and are doing a fine job. Friends of
XIC will assist where we can.
A diary of the proposed Friends of XIC events will be published shortly.
At
an inaugural meeting of the Friends of XIC, a ‘founding committee’ was
formed to establish the basics of the Friends of XIC. In addition, we
are establishing the foundation for the future of Friends of XIC,
incorporating constitution, books of account and many other forms of
necessary administrative controls. |
