Welcome
to our website and thank you for your interest in Xabia International
College, now the only international school in Javea for pupils from 2
to 18 years. I hope that it will give you an insight into
our busy
and varied life here on the Costa Blanca.
XIC
was founded in 1994 to provide a quality education based on the English
National Curriculum within an international environment. Our commitment to small class sizes enables us to provide a personal and individual education for every child.
As an
international school, Spanish is taught as a core subject throughout the curriculum. At the age of 2 all children are
immersed in a bilingual environment, stimulating the early acquisition of both
Spanish and English. The
school comprises Primary and Secondary sections ranging from Nursery at
2 years of age, through to GCSE at 16 and to 'A' Level at 18+.
The natural progression in a family's education can therefore
take place with the least possible disruption.
The current roll
of approximately 320 students is made up of children of some twenty
nationalities. We offer them a diverse education here at XIC.
The school is fully authorised to admit students of all
nationalities and to convalidate their studies in line with the Spanish
Education System. Teaching Spanish language and culture is
an important part of the curriculum between the ages of 5 and 16 as
well as to 'A' Level. We are also committed to maintaining XIC's
highly effective low pupil/teacher ratio.
One
of our aims is to encourage students to have a positive involvement in
college life, whether through formal work or otherwise. We value
such contributions highly and recognise them by presenting certificates
and awards.
We strongly believe in working closely with parents in the
best interests of all our students, including liaising with our Parents and Teachers Association, 'The Friends of XIC'.
We are a straightforward and purposeful community with one aim: to ensure our students are happy and do well.
